The development of hardness of children of servicemen with manifestations of post-traumatic stress disorder
Prevention of the development of distress, teaching children to recognize the negative consequences of stress, symptoms of stress disorder, the formation of their ability to overcome trauma, to resist excessive stress factors is one of the primary tasks today.
The factors of excessive stress in the children of military personnel are mainly associated with the family microclimate, the personal characteristics of the parents, which, in our opinion, indicates that the quality of relations in the family, the feeling of closeness between family members, belonging, and favorable psychoemotional connections between them play a basic role in the issue overcoming the negative effects of stress and developing children's resilience. The psycho-emotional state of adults is an important and one of the main links in understanding the process of deployment / overcoming of PTSD symptoms by children of military personnel. Probably, the symptoms of hyperreactivity, intrusion and avoidance provoke difficulties in contact between adults and children, cause in the latter a feeling of detachment, loss of closeness with parents, reliability, constancy of communication, which, in turn, can cause a state of hyperreactivity in children themselves in the form of increased separation anxiety. loss of contact and the like, becoming an additional and significant stress factor for them.
Psychological support of children of military personnel, the development of their resilience includes a multi-vector consistent study of problems. The basic condition for the successful development of PTSD symptoms in children of military personnel is the resumption of favorable psychoemotional contact and relationships in the family, which is achieved through complex work primarily with significant adults for children - psychoeducation, the development of their skills of psychoemotional balance, skills of favorable contact and communication with children, and also through group work with the family as a whole.
